Data products derived from raw data are produced by both the broader scientific community and EarthScope Data Services (DS). These value-added products are created through additional processing, analysis, and interpretation of raw observations from seismic, magnetotelluric, and other geophysical instrumentation supported under the NSF NGF, often to address specific scientific questions or to support particular applications. They complement more basic raw-data offerings—such as event-segmented waveforms—which are distributed through the DS’s traditional data access mechanisms.
To help users navigate this diverse set of resources, EarthScope DS organizes its data products into three primary groupings based on how they are generated, maintained, and used: Event-Based Products, Active Products, and Static (Non-Updating) Products. Event-Based Products are produced in response to individual seismic events. Active Products are continuously maintained or updated as new data become available. Static (Non-Updating) Products represent completed analyses or long-term reference datasets that do not change over time. These groupings are intended to make it easier for users to discover relevant products and understand how each fits within the broader EarthScope DS data ecosystem.
